PACK 329 FISHING TRIP - SATURDAY, OCTOBER 11TH

posted Sep 23, 2014, 11:39 AM by Joe Sievers
I am very excited to announce that our October event will be a Pack 329 Fishing Trip!  The trip will be leaving from Captree State Park on The Captain Gillen.  The Gillen family has been involved in fishing at Captree since 1955.  It's the captain's discretion but we will most likely be fishing for fluke or striped bass depending on what is biting.  Since there will probably be many first time fisherman on this trip, we will be staying in the bay and not venturing out into the ocean.

The cost will be $20 per person/scout and all family members or friends are welcome to join us.  We ask that you sign up and pay for the trip at our pack night this upcoming Monday at Indian Hollow in the multi-purpose room.

Here are the details:

Date:  Saturday, October 11th
Time:  10:30am-3pm (the boat will be leaving at EXACTLY 11am, we recommend that you arrive about a 1/2 before we set sail)
Cost:  $20 per person or scout (includes rod, reel and bait)
Location:  Captree State Park
Directions: Southern State Parkway to exit 40 South Robert Moses Causeway (Ocean Beaches), continue south on Robert Moses Causeway, go over bridge.  Take the 3rd exit, Ocean Parkway East - Captree State Park (NOT Captree Island).  As you enter the park, follow the signs to the Boat Basin.  The Captain Gillen is located on the right side of the dock as you enter the parking lot.
Phone #:  631-586-5511
What to bring:  Clothing based on the weather (most likely sweatshirts, hats, sunglasses and long pants).  Lunch will NOT be provided so we also recommend that you bring a small cooler with drinks and something to eat.  Snacks are available on board.

Also note that the trip can be cancelled if the captain feels the weather is not acceptable.
